Having been self-employed and running various businesses for over 20 years, I fully understand the challenges we face as entrepreneurs.

Since 2015, I've been helping entrepreneurs and business professionals overcome the thoughts, feelings and habits preventing them from experiencing desired results in both their professional and personal lives.

By combining high performance coaching with cognitive behavioural therapy and evidence-based hypnosis, I'm can offer my clients a unique and powerful approach to solving the challenges they face.

Single-Session High Performance Coaching

For certain situations, one session of high performance coaching, integrating CBT tools and techniques, might be all that is required to help you. If so, we'll spend 60-90 minutes together working on your problem and you'll leave with clear action steps. This process works when you have hit an easily defined roadblock in one specific area and have a clear and measurable goal that can be realistically achieved in a short time frame. After an agreed interval, we'll have a follow-up call to check on your progress. If we decide that it would be beneficial for you to have more than one session, we'll book some more—a simple, easy and efficient approach to getting the help you need, when you need it.

The 60 Minute Session

Once we decide to proceed with a single session, you'll make payment and agree on the time and date for your call. During the session you receive a full assessment and access the clarity you need to move forward.

Your Action Steps

At the end of the call, we will agree on action steps for you to take to build on our session and move towards your goal(s). We'll arrange a 15 min follow-up call to this session and we can discuss further help if required. 

Brief Coaching & Therapy - High Performance Hypno-CBT®

Session 1 - 90 Mins

Together, we'll clarify what is driving your current situation and agree an initial session plan to reach your goals. Many people find that first session therapeutic in itself as we begin to unpack some of the issues and the reasons they exist.

Agreed Session Plan

During the assessment, we will have agreed how many sessions we need to achieve your goal. The average number of sessions is 4-8, though it could be more or fewer depending on the nature of your situation and desired outcomes.

FAQ's

How do the sessions/Calls take place?

All sessions take place via a Zoom video call which allows me to speak with you as soon as possible and offer the service to clients worldwide. Also, by using Zoom, we can record the call and you will receive access to the recording after our session for your review. Clients find this very helpful as we often cover many areas in one session, and you might want to refer back to the ideas, solutions or approaches offered.

What happens on the free 15 minute call?

During the 15 minute call, we will discuss your current situation and your completed pre-call questionnaire. Our aim on this call is to establish two things. Firstly, identify if your current situation and goals are a good fit for the solutions I offer my clients and secondly, if so, agree on the next steps to be taken. 

Will I receive coaching, therapy Or Hypnosis?

While most of the work I do with clients contains an element of all three, you will receive whatever is best suited to solve the challenge you are facing. For example, if you are stuck because you are unsure of a strategy to follow, coaching alone might be required. However, suppose it is also the case that you struggle to implement a strategy because of stress, anxiety or procrastination issues. In that case, we can apply cognitive behavioural therapy approaches to address the situation.  If we are both in agreement that hypnosis could enhance the process, then we will add that to our sessions. .

What is 'high performance'?

High performance means operating beyond standard norms consistently over the long term; however, it shouldn't be confused with peak performance, and it doesn't mean you have to be the 'best of the best'.

In my work with clients, we focus on high performance at an individual level. It's about performing in such a way to reach YOUR next level, whatever that might be.

High performance will have a different meaning for each person and a different application depending on the area of life you wish to improve.

As part of the assessment process, I'll ask you questions to discover your current level of performance/results in the relevant area we will be targeting for change, and we will get clarity on what the next level would be for you.

In summary, high performance living is the persistent feeling of full engagement, joy and confidence that comes from consistently living from your best self.

What is Cognitive behavioural therapy / Hypnotherapy?

At the root of cognitive behavioural therapy( CBT) and cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy (CBH) is an understanding that the way we respond to events is not due to the event itself but the way we interpret that event, based on our beliefs and assumptions built up over time.

The consequences are often a complex mix of feelings, thoughts and behaviours, which over time have tended to reinforce our core beliefs, sometimes in unhelpful ways.

CBH involves addressing feelings (emotions), thoughts (cognitions) and behaviours individually and together. Sometimes simply being aware and able to conceptualise these relationships changes things profoundly.

CBH integrates hypnosis fully with CBT, drawing on how we can use our imagination to challenge negative thoughts and feelings, replace them willingly with more positive suggestions, and enable us to achieve complete relaxation quickly and effectively.

Both CBT and CBH are therapies that focus on the present rather than the past. So while patterns of behaviour and thinking may have developed over time, cognitive behavioural therapies concentrate on practical solutions to dealing with current experiences - you cannot undo the past. Still, you can change how you respond now to the past, present and future.

What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is simply focused attention on a dominant idea - most often when relaxed - with an expectation that something will happen and an acceptance of and responsiveness to suggestions. 

It is not something I, as the therapist, do to you - it is something you willingly do yourself. In this way, all hypnosis is self-hypnosis. 

The experience of deep relaxation in hypnosis can be genuinely transformative. 

It does not involve entering into a mystical 'trance' - hypnosis in hypnotherapy is a million miles from the stage and TV comedy hypnosis shows. 

Hypnosis is a normal waking process - you may have experienced it yourself, for example, in a negative way when worrying about something and you are so focused on it that you may be completely unaware of what is going on around you, or when day-dreaming. 

I can help you use self-hypnosis to relax deeply - to calm the body and the mind entirely - and to challenge and replace negative thoughts, feelings and behaviours with positive ones, changing your entire outlook on life. 

You can rehearse and challenge your responses to anxiety-provoking situations by using your imagination in hypnosis, freeing yourself from fears and worries. You are in control at all times.

Hypnosis is fully supported by peer-reviewed, evidence-based scientific research over many decades, on its own and integrated with CBT, which is the model of psychotherapy recommended by NICE and the NHS. All the techniques I use are tried, tested and evidence-based. 

what is involved in brief coaching/therapy?

Our first full session (not our initial 30-minute call) is an assessment and conceptualisation session, which will take 90 minutes. All other sessions are 50 minutes.

That assessment session is essential as it offers an opportunity for us to understand what is going on and if performance coaching and/or cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy (CBH) seem suitable for you. If so, we will agree to an initial session plan to reach our agreed goal(s).

Many people find that first session very therapeutic in itself as we begin to unpack some of the issues and the relationship between feelings, thoughts and behaviours.

CBH is typically a short term programme, often around 4-8 sessions, though it could be more or fewer depending on the nature of the issues.

CBH treatment is typically short-term because it is a highly proactive approach; it involves you practising between sessions some of the techniques and tools we will go through during the sessions.

The more you practice the techniques, the more quickly progress can be seen.

All sessions are strictly confidential (subject only to ethical considerations concerning the risk of harm to self or others, as required by my professional practice bodies). I abide by the Codes of Ethics of the professional bodies shown on this page and am fully insured to practice coaching and hypnotherapy.
