In this post, we will be taking a look at step 4 of the 5 steps to living fearlessly and having it all which is The Vehicle.
This step follows very closely on the heels of the previous two, the vision and the design, and is an extension of them.
In the previous posts you were given two exercises to complete. You did do them didn’t you? If not, NOW would be a good time 😉
You created your perfect day, and then you created your life accounts, stated your envisioned future, checked in on your current reality and then designed the steps to close the gap between the two.
So now you have a clear picture of how you want your life to be, you are going to need the vehicle to make that happen.
When designing the vehicle that will provide the means by which you can live fearlessly and have it all, there are three main components – the money, the magic and the model.
The money is the amount you need, the magic is what you do to get it, and the model is how you go about it.
To cover all three is beyond the scope of this blog post series, it is a 2/3 day workshop in itself. I find that the ‘magic’ component is where the majority of people get stuck, so I’m going to delve into that a little today and give you an exercise you can do.
So what do I mean by ‘magic’?
It’s that thing that you are a master at, the thing that you do best. When you take that out into the world, it can create all the money you need to live the life you desire.
That sentence above is usually enough to cause mental roadblocks in people’s minds to start appearing. The thoughts of doubt creep in, and I hear statements such as “I have no special skills”, “I don’t have a talent” etc.
None of that is true. You do have those things, we all do, you just may not have identified them yet.
So let us begin that process with an exercise.
Take a look at the diagram below
You can see three circles, each representing a different category – Love, Skill & Value and in the middle where it is coloured red, that is the sweet spot.
When you identify what you love, what you have a skill for and what offers value to others you’re all set.
Grab a piece of paper and divide it into the three following categories:
1. What do you love to do
2. What skills do you have
3. What value can you create
Write out a list of all the things you love to do. Try not to censor yourself when creating this list by only putting down things you think you can use into your professional life. Just write down all the things you enjoy spending time doing.
Next, write out a list of all the skills you have. What are you good at? What to you find easy to do? What have you learnt during your life? What do people come to you for advice about etc.?
Finally, what value can you create? What services, products, etc. could you create for people that would offer them value.
I would like to point out here that the value you create does not need to be expressed by way of an entrepreneurial venture. I would highly recommend that route if you want true freedom but that is a topic for another day. So, for now, the value can be wherever you wish to create it, as an employee or by starting your own business.
Now you will have three lists. What we are looking for is the sweet spot where we match across all three not just 1 or 2.
For example, you can have a skill for something, create an offer that is valuable but if you don’t love it, you are not going to get the fulfilment you are seeking or be able to sustain doing it.
It is possible to have a love for something, put together an offer that is valuable but not have the skill (yet) to deliver it.
Lastly, you can love something, have the skills needed but it does not create or offer value that others are currently seeking.
So looking at your lists, where is the point that they meet, the sweet spot. Where you take what you love, you have a skill you can use and it offers value that others are seeking?
When you put those three together, great things start to happen.
Don’t stress out if it doesn’t become obvious immediately what that sweet spot is, play with it, have some fun. Take items from each list and mix and match them until you find a combination that works.
It’s common once you have done this to think, “great, but how do I make that happen?”. That is the model part of the equation.

When you have completed this exercise (and the others), you will have come a long way to living fearlessly and having it all. We have explored the nature of thought, we have created your perfect day, you have set up your life accounts, and now you have found that sweet spot, your magic, that will fund it all and provide you with fulfilment.
The next step is to apply all that you have done in your daily life, and I’ll be publishing the next and final post in this series where we will cover that, very soon.
